Meet the crew
The Acoustic Nights Free Concert Series is run by a team of volunteers from Brewster Productions, a local live sound production company. The series was founded by Scott McEwen, Jon Dorn, and Harry Quinn, and has been staffed by a dedicated team of relatives, friends, and significant others.
Meet the organizers:
Scott McEwen is a carpenter by trade, and also works at the Pilgrim Sands Motel as a go-to guy for everything from working the front desk, to building a brand new bar, to booking musicians. At the concert series, he is the lead sound engineer, equipment specialist, bookkeeper, and builds our own custom road cases.
Jon Dorn is a cartoonist and filmmaker, who is currently a graduate student in Emerson College’s MFA Media Art program. At the concert series, he works the sound board, books artists, and handles web, PR, photo/video, and advertising.
Mellie Dorn will start college in the fall at UVM. She helps with planning, organizing, booking and day-of-event things. She’s Jon’s younger sister.
Steve McEwen is an electrician in the eastern MA area, and he helps with lighting and transportation. He’s Scott’s younger brother.
Harry Quinn is a grad student/teacher in Lowell. He helps setup the stage and run the merch table. He helped start the series in 2007.
Alex Dorn is an architecture student at RPI. She helps with various design-related things and works the merch/info table at the shows. She’s also Jon’s younger sister.
Our wonderfully helpful 2011 volunteer crew includes the likes of: Erin McEwen, Phil Hulse, Shane Paull, Tim McEwen, Paula McEwen, Seth McFadyen, Danielle Rochette, Jeff Rochette, Liz Arponen, and Paul Poremski.
