Brewster Productions’ School’s Out Summer Concert Series is a Massachusetts non-profit corporation with the stated purpose to “promote the arts and raise awareness of the importance of public education nationwide."
Free concerts take place at 2 locations on the Plymouth Waterfront from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend 2009. The 2 venues of the series are the Hedge House Museum lawn, home of the Acoustic Evenings on the Harbor concerts (and generously made available by the Plymouth Antiquarian Society), and the stage in Pilgrim Memorial State Park (the "main stage"), near Brewster Gardens.
The concert series began July 2008 on the Plymouth waterfront as popular local artists 3rd Left, Jake Hill, and the Eagle Hill Band kicked off the season with a night of music that saw upwards of 500 attendees.
The series continued with 4 subsequent successful main-stage concerts featuring the cream of the local music crop. Mid-summer, Brewster Productions added 5 dates in the form of Acoustic Evenings on the Harbor, free acoustic shows that took place weekend nights on the lawn of the historic Hedge House. The acoustic concerts, made possible by a partnership with the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, also proved very popular, and they received high praise from locals and tourists alike.
The School's Out Concert Series was founded in 2008 by 21-year-old Plymouth South High School graduates (2005), Jon Dorn, Scott McEwen and Harry Quinn.
